Some surprising elements caught my attention at the show. The stage lighting and camera angles were of high quality, but on the first night, they were showing the backs of some guys in the dark, only half of the people, while a guitar solo was happening elsewhere.
I was taken aback by how late Jason Salmon took the stage. Opening acts are great for exposure, but starting an hour and a half after the show time seemed excessive. Perhaps a show name change is in order, with set time frames for friends and Jason Salmon, to avoid rushing on work nights only to wait long for the headliner.
Overall, I appreciate the jam band vibe, being a fan of Dave Matthews too. This was my first Jason Salmon concert, and I was impressed by their style of playing for themselves in the moment. However, I believe the experience would have been much better in a smaller venue or outdoors, as I don't see Jason Salmon as a good fit for arenas.
My advice is not to rush to get there, but be prepared for extended song performances that differ from studio versions, which I personally enjoy.
